Del Libertador is one of the most beautiful avenues of Buenos Aires. I particularly recommend walking it from the Zoo until Recoleta. It’s about less than an hour walk at normal pace and with no stops. Along this stroll, you’ll notice the Museo de Arte Popular José Hernández, the National Museum of Decorative Arts, some Art Deco buildings, the National Library and a monument to Evita, among other special highlights. I’ll be posting more about these in the future.

La Avenida del Libertador es una de las más bellas de Buenos Aires. Recomiendo recorrerla desde el Zoológico hasta Recoleta. Es una caminata de menos de una hora a ritmo normal y sin paradas. A lo largo de esta caminata observarán el Museo de Arte Popular José Hernández, el Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas, algunos edificios art decó, la Biblioteca Nacional y el monumento a Evita, entre otros puntos destacados. Figueroa Alcorta is one of the most elegant avenues of Buenos Aires. The MALBA, the Japanese Garden and many embassies are located along this avenue. I took this picture from the garage of the Paseo Alcorta mall.

Last Sunday I visited the exhibition of graphic artist Alejandro Sirio at the National Museum of Fine Arts, on Del Libertador Ave. and Pueyrredón Ave. It’s really worth a visit.

Alejandro Sirio worked for Caras y Caretas, wrote and illustrated the book “De Palermo a Montparnasse” and created advertising posters, among other things.

El domingo pasado visité la muestra de Alejandro Sirio en el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, en la Av. Del Libertador y Av. Pueyrredón. Vale la pena verla. Este gran diseñador gráfico trabajó para la revista Caras y Caretas, escribió e ilustró el libro “De Palermo a Montparnasse” y realizó afiches publicitarios, entre otras cosas.
